On November 22, 1950, Norris Herndon established The Alonzo F. and Norris B. Herndon Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was established as a non-profit corporation to be used exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary and educational purposes.

American barber and entrepreneur, Alonzo Franklin Herndon was founder and president of the Atlanta Life Insurance Company, one of the most successful black-owned insurance businesses in the nation. At the time of his death in 1927, he was also Atlanta‘s wealthiest black citizen, owning more property than any other African-American.

The Herndon Game Changer Entrepreneurship Program, a first of its kind, provides wide array of high school students from the metro Atlanta region a chance to learn entrepreneurship through intense year-round, entrepreneurship instruction and hands-on training through active mentorship from vested business leaders, including CEO’s.
